Basic Information

Gary Player has designed upwards of 130 projects in 38 countries on five continents. The fact that at one point he named Ria Bintan GC among his top 10 speaks volumes.
The Ocean Course was completed in 1998 and is almost two separate experiences. Much of the front nine winds through the Riau jungle providing an intimate, native experience. After you tee off on the par-5 seventh hole and begin walking down the fairway toward your ball (hopefully), the South China Sea reveals itself in spectacular fashion. There’s a reason this hole was voted the best par-5 in Asia. If the distraction doesn’t get to you, par is not a difficult score. The short par-3 eighth takes you down even closer to the water, and the entirety of the ninth borders the sea.
The Forest Course consists of nine Player-designed holes and exudes more of a parkland feel. Fairways are welcoming but the bunkering can bite (as at most Gary Player courses). 

• Ocean Course (Blue/Green) : Cutting through the native jungle of Riau, a round on our Ocean Course is a visual treat at every turn, especially at our signature holes. The South China Sea opens up to you at Hole 7. The green at Hole 8 is surrounded by the beautiful views of the South China Sea on three sides. Hole 9 is a rocky outcrop tee off challenge for any golfer. That’s when keeping your eye on the ball gets difficult.

• Forest Course : Golf here is no walk in the park, but it sure feels like it. Set on sprawling grounds with avenues of tress and serene lake views, the air about our Forest Course is as fresh as morning dew. The various bunkers and fairways will make your game both challenging and rewarding.

Great view and challenging course, total 27 holes – Ocean course, Blue course, and Forest course. Of course, must play at Ocean course. All guests of Ria Bintan resort can play golf unlimitedly, we played 18 holes x 3 times per day, we were exhausted.
Actually I have visited here 3 times for our Golf Workshop between 2014 and 2018.
