Basic Information
Poresia Golf Club Resort (also called Senibong Golf Club) is the nearest Johor Bahru country club to Singapore. The golf course is located 15 minutes from the Tuas checkpoint and is set on 1,700 acres of a greater golf resort complex.
The newly renovated golf club hosts an international 18-hole golf course with new Bermuda Tifdwarf greens. The new golf course is configurated to allow golfers to enjoy an entirely new experience in golfing.
The environs of Poresia Golf Club Resort are lush and show the rich in the natural beauty of Malaysia. The design of the golf courses was planned by Pete Dye and suits both golf professionals and amateurs alike. Four interchangeable nine-hole loops – Hibiscus, Orchid, Sakura and Bougainvillea – make-up the 36 championship holes laid out in this former palm oil plantation.
Maintenance standards are generally good at Poresia Golf Club Resort, especially so around the large, gently contoured greens and their many run-off areas. The 13th (Orchid) is played from the highest point on the Poresia domain, a wonderfully elevated tee-box providing an excellent view of the surrounding plantation and the long downhill par-4. The Sakura course becomes a little tighter in places and less undulating than the Orchid, especially through its middle section. A meandering creek ensures plenty of water hazards lie in wait in Sakura’s middle section. A few holes have creeks crossing the fairways twice, setting up some excellent risk-reward opportunities for longer hitters. Although Orchid / Hibiscus are the strongest combination, the Orchid / Sakura will provide low and mid-handicappers with an excellent and testing outing.
