Basic Information
Conveniently located just 20 minutes from downtown San Diego, Cottonwood Golf Club is one of the finest public golf courses in San Diego County. Nested in the rolling hills of Rancho San Diego, Cottonwood’s championship 18-hole golf course, Ivanhoe, provides everyone with an opportunity to improve and challenge their golf game. Cottonwood Golf Club is a popular daily fee facility that’s been serving golfers since 1962. Designed by O.W. Moorman and A.C. Sears.
The Cottonwood offers a championship layout that plays to 6,736 yards, Par-72, 18 holes. The course features generous fairways, strategic bunkering and smooth greens. One of the more unusual aspects of this par-72 layout is that both nines end with par 3s. The 18th can be stretched close to 220 yards, and golfers must carry a creek on the way to the green. The water, however, is not in front of the green and really doesn’t come into play for more players. The course’s no. 1 handicap hole is the 567-yard par-5 eighth, a slight dogleg right that plays through a fairway framed by trees on both sides.

Golf at San Diego again, the maintenance level is just normal as local public golf course, not bad but so so. Only one characteristic point is total length, over 6700 yards from black tee (the black tee at this course is same with Blue tee of others.)
Golf during winter season is a little challenging, it’s a little difficult to find the ball by many fallen leaves and lower sun.
49 46 95… frustrated golf today, all driver shot were skied ball or sliced ball.
