Omni La Costa Resort & Spa – Champions Course
The Omni La Costa Resort & Spa’s two courses, Legends and Champions, have a long history of hosting professional golf. The Tournament of Champions was played at La Costa from 1969-1998 and the World Match Play Championship from 1999-2006 using holes from both courses. Each one was renovated from 2011-13 by architects Steve Pate and Damian Pascuzzo to improve drainage and enjoyment for members and guests. The Champions at La Costa added four new holes and many greens and tees were elevated for strategic and aesthetic purposes. Its finishing holes – starting with a drivable par 4 and ending on a risk-reward par 5 – promotes swings on a leaderboard or a match. The Legends at La Costa plays as a more traditional parkland with gentle doglegs. Combined, they make up one of the best and most diverse golf resorts in SoCal.
