Basic Information
BRG Da Nang Golf Resort is situated on the fledgling central coast of Viet Nam amid 150 hectares of dunescape similar to what the world’s first golf courses were carved from. It is located in central Viet Nam, and incredible views are experienced when playing alongside one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The new Nicklaus Course is Asia’s first true bulkhead course, and creates a stunning contrast to the Dunes Course. The Nicklaus course is also floodlit enabling multiple alternatives to suit the residents of Da Nang schedules and also maximize times to play for tourists. Golfers now have the choice to play for full 18 holes starting late afternoon or enjoy a quick nine holes after dinner.
Its chief feature is a 7,160-yard, 18-hole, links-style layout that was designed in the true spirit of the game – blown-out bunkers, firm and fast fairways that bleed gently into wild seaside vegetation, rugged waste areas, swales, and hollows. It lies close to two of Viet Nam’s most historic destination – UNESCO World Heritage sites Hoi An and Hue – and offers breathtaking views of the Marble Mountains, East Sea, and Cham Islands.
More so than other areas of Vietnam, the wind can play be a significant factor on the Vietnam coast. For example, the par-3 16th hole is back-dropped by the South China Sea and often plays into a stiff headwind, making club selection very tricky. The wind, when combined with the firm and fast greens, can toughen up the course considerably.
Golfers accustomed to links-style golf have an advantage due to the options afforded by the soil and turf conditions that enable low running bump and runs and putting from well off the greens. Creative shot-making comes in handy on this course.
2018. 3. 3.
Golf Workshop Day-2 at Da Nang, Vietnam.
Here everything is between Da Nang and Hoi An. Reception perfect, restaurant friendly, links course, but not by the sea, perfect care. The caddies make it an extra enjoyable and are very attentive, especially at 38Grad in April. Great greens, swift as an arrow. Very nice exercise facilities. Conditioning not so styled as Montgomery, so looks much more natural and closer to nature.
